 Every once in a while we will introduce you to member of the 'Krafty family'. This time we will start with our store manager Quintin... 1. What motivated you to move to Prague and become the manager of the Krafty music store?
Music is my life! I like it when people enjoy dance music and I want to contribute to that. The dance scene in the Czech Republic is growing and I see it as a challenge to take one of the possibilities to provide the Czech party people with some good music. Prague is also known as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe that’s why I think it’s a nice place to live either.
2. Besides shop manager you are also a dj. What’s your musical preference and have you always been into this style?
My musical preference is difficult to describe. It’s a mixture of groove/tribal house and techno, but I also like some trance influences. But the tribal sound is my main thing.
3. Not long ago you won the most prestigious DJ talent price in Holland. How did this change your career?
I played on several big party’s like Sensation, Mysteryland, Innercity, Trance Energy. I learned a lot from playing on these bigger party’s. After that my name got more known and l got a weekly residency in a club in Holland. Everything I learned is in this period is what makes me the dj I am today…
4. Most dj’s are also producing, do you also have this drive?
Yes, I like producing as much as performing. It’s different because you get no feedback from an audience and you’re locked up in your music bunker ;-), but creating something that sound good, Is an amazing feeling.
5. What do you think of the local dance scene in Prague?
The people here are so energetic and really know how to make a party. I hope the party people will always keep this energetic spirit! I think the organisation of some parties could be better, but that is something for the future, I’m sure.
6. Who is dj Quintin in private life, what do you do when you are not in the shop and dj’ing or producing?
I am a creative person. What I do in my free time, is different every day. I could be shopping, cleaning my house or car, relaxing under a solarium or just enjoying my time with friends. One thing I always do after work is going to the gym. That’s some way of relaxing for me. It gives me a great feeling and is really addictive.
7. Who do you like more, Czech or Dutch girls? And why?
Czech girls are amazingly beautiful. But the difference between Dutch and Czech girls?.. Couldn’t say this yet. I’m in Czech for a too short period to tell you anything about Czech girls yet. Show me, I would say ;-)
8. What's Quintins favourite food?
Don’t really have favourite food. I like many different things. For instance, I like chicken with pineapple & cashew nuts, but I also like Indonesian food (I grew up with it). I like food, that’s either sweet, or hot…
