News » Meet the Krafty family: E-lite

Every once in a while we will introduce you to member of the 'Krafty family'. Now its time to introduce you to one of our shop assistants; E-Lite!

1. Many of you know you as dj E-lite, but not many people know you are working in our brand new record store! Was it always your dream to connect your hobby with your work as a dj? I've always thought that the best job for DJs who don't make a living just from DJing is working in a DJ shop.

2. What are your five favourite tracks from this moment?
Freemansons - Love on my mind
The Drill - The Drill
Mario Ochoa - Small Town
Marco.V - Second Bite part II
Tony Cha Cha - What's going down

3. What do you like most of your job in the record store? And as a dj?
As far as working in the shop is concerned, the best part is when there's new records in and the best part of working as a DJ is when it's not work but pleasure.

4. Who is Esther in private life?
I remain the same at work and in private because my work is also my hobby.

5. What do you always wish you'd get asked, but rarely do?
"Do you want to play?". But I can't say that I rarely hear it.

6. There is a phrase 'DJs never dance'. Is this true for you as well?
I don't know about other DJs, but I've always liked to dance - dancing is a part of music. And even though I'm a little more discerning and not so active, I really couldn't imagine it being any other way.

7. If you had to change your profession what would you like to be?
Proabably archealogist but I'm a bit claustrophobic.

8. Could you tell us something about your future plans regarding dj’ing?
I don't make plans since I prefer pleasant surprises. I do though in the future want to start producing my own stuff and I very much like the idea of being part of a live project.

9. What’s your favourite movie?
Life is Beatiful

10 How was it to warm up on TDL Timewarp like you recently did?
Beforehand I had certain misgivings because I mostly play funky, vocal house or tech-trance but my set time at the Timewarp party meant that I couldn't really play either. From people's reactions and my own impressions though, I'm glad I chose the records I chose.
