News » Interview DJ Remy (NL)

DJ Remy is not unknown in Prague. But did you know that he is supporting his favourite Dutch football club whenever he can? Or that his friend who can't mix like to scratch Remy his records during a gig?

1. You played several times in the Czech Republic. Which gig is the most memorable and why?
I think the one in the icehockey arena in Prague, very impressive place and a great crowd.

2. What gives you more satisfaction, rocking a crowd with your turntables or getting a stunning reaction from your productions?
A combination of both is the ultimate satisfaction; I don't think I can make a choice.

3. What do you always wish you'd get asked, but rarely do?
Can I get you a drink ?

4. What/where is your favourite club to spin/hang out at currently and why?
I have many favourites, but i think Glow@Fur in Washington is super, great club and crowd. And off course the host Pete Moutso, he makes you feel at home.

5. What are your predictions for the future art of Dj'ing/production?
I am afraid vinyl will disappear; my own sets are 50 pct. cd's at the moment.
You can already see the new generation looking strange at you when you have a record in your hands.I think a lot of dj's will start using a laptop with controllers, like dj Sasha as good example.

6. What's your current top 5?
1.M.I.D.O.R .- Goldrush
2.Purple haze - Rush
3.RR workshop- Electrolux
4.Introvert - 5 am illusions
5.Armin van B. vs Remy & Roland Klinkenberg - Bounce Back (Remy&Roland remix)

7. Do you think dance music in general is overrated?
No

8. If you had to change your profession what would you like to be?
A superstar football player, I love football.
I still support my team ADO Den Haag every weekend.

9. What's the craziest moment you've ever experienced as a DJ during your set?
I had quite a lot; one of them is when I had to go to the toilet during my set on a big festival. I heard somebody going crazy on the faders and scratching the record, I quickly pulled up my pants and saw one of my friends totally wasted with his hands in the air behind the turntables. But like I said, so many crazy things happen, that's what makes the job nice!
